Town calls last orders on trouble makers

Llanfyllin has got tough with booze-fuelled crime and violence by introducing a pub watch scheme that is used to curb problems in Welshpool.

The Behave of Be Banned scheme names and shames trouble makers who are then banned from all licensed premises in the town. It will come into immediate effect in Llanfyllin.

Nicola Davies, Police Licensing Officer said: “This will mark the 14th Pubwatch scheme to operate within Powys, all of which act as an excellent deterrent to alcohol related crime and disorder.”

The committee lead scheme allows ON and OFF licensed premises to work with partners such as the police, to ensure that the minority of troublemakers are not allowed into licensed premises or purchase alcohol.

People who are caught causing trouble in one establishment or within the town centre may face being banned from all premises on the Llanfyllin Scheme for a period of time decided by the committee.

All premises who have signed up to the scheme will display a BoBB poster on their premises.
