Tenants invited to join Board

12/04/2013 @ 03:26

Mid-Wales Housing Association is appealing to its tenants to join the Board.

The Association says their input will be vital as it bids to continually improve its services and face up to the financial hardships ahead.

The Association wants individuals with a passion for social housing and who possess the qualities required to take decisions collectively and monitor the company’s performance.

The current Board of Management comprises 14 members, of which two are tenants, but the Association wishes to strengthen its tenant representation.

Shane Perkins, Chief Executive of Mid-Wales Housing Association, said: “In these challenging times, it is vital to ensure that the Board of Management has the necessary skills and experience which complement the business goals and provide strong leadership and guidance.  We are constantly looking to increase the Board’s knowledge base as wide as possible to reflect the Association’s responsibility to its tenants and stakeholders and I welcome applicants from our properties throughout the area who believe they can make a difference to the way in which their Association is run.”

Whilst Board Members in Wales do not receive a salary, reasonable expenses will be paid and many training opportunities are available for Board Members.

Mid-Wales Housing Association has 1,500 properties throughout Powys and Ceredigion with a headquarters in Newtown, Powys.  If any tenant is interested in Board Membership, please ring Janet Price at the Association on 0300 111 3030.
