£50,000 up for grabs

Groups, organisations and charities throughout Montgomeryshire are being urged by Montgomeryshire MP, Glyn Davies, to apply for £50,000 as part of a multi-million project between ITV and the Big Lottery Fund.

The People's Millions programme will be broadcast on ITV Wales in May, giving people the opportunity to vote for groups or organisations that they believe should receive support.

But the organisations have to submit an application in the first place to have a chance to be part of it, and applications close on May 13.

Mr Davies said: "The People's Millions competition represents a great opportunity to mobilise support and publicity behind local causes. It is supported by the Big Lottery Fund, which has already donated thousands of pounds to deserving groups and organisations within Montgomeryshire.

"I urge any group or organisation that supports their local community in Montgomeryshire to apply to the programme."
