Police chase rogue bikers

Dyfed Powys Police have ended a two-weekend clampdown on wreckless motorbike riders in a bid to reduce the number of accidents on local roads.

Road safety officers targeted known hotspots to tackle what they have described as “anti-social and dangerous riding” of motorcycles. The fine weather brought huge numbers to the area with seven riders caught breaking the law and a further 23 warned for using excessive speed.

In the same operation, 13 car drivers were also reported for speeding.

“We appreciate that motorcyclists and other motorists enjoy driving on our roads in Dyfed Powys and the vast majority ride safely and within the law,” said Sergeant Ian Price. “But we have a job to do and that is to ensure that our roads are safe for all road users as well as to keep bikers safe. And over the coming months, Roads Policing Officers will continue to take positive action with similar operations within Dyfed Powys.”
