Last push for Monday’s Carnival

22/05/2013 @ 01:19

Welshpool’s Carnival will make a welcome return on Monday and organisers have put out one last appeal for entries and volunteers as preparations reach their final phase.

The parade is set to travel through the one-way system from 1pm but floats and walking entries are invited to be at the Scout Hut, off Berriew Street by noon, with judging at 12.15pm.

There is a host of activity promised at Maesydre but there is still an opportunity for stalls and car booters to get involved. Stall pitches are priced at £15 (free for charities) with car boots at £5.

“We are hoping there will be something for everyone so the whole town can get behind it,” said Trish Hodges, Carnival Secretary. “We are still welcoming volunteers too so if anyone feels they can spare some time to support the Carnival on the day then please get in touch with me.”

Meanwhile, the traditional ‘crowns’ have been revealed:

Carnival Queen - Harley Rone
Carnival King - Wojtek Boran
Carnival Princess - Adrianna Wilson
Carnival Prince - Thomas Backhouse
