Get set for a wonderful weekend Welshpool!

24/05/2013 @ 10:32

Welshpool is set to enjoy one of its most fun-filled weekends for many a year.

The phrase ‘something for everyone’ couldn’t be more apt as Welshpool opens its arms to a weekend of fun, thrills and quality music and entertainment.

It all gets underway tonight when the Oak Live hosts an evening of free live music featuring the talented Steve Edwards.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the Town Hall’s Corn Exchange is the venue for the final Spring Fair of the year when local crafts and produce will be on sale throughout the day.

But Sunday is when the entertainment really does become inclusive for all.

Waterloo Rovers Football Club, who play the Spar Cup final on Saturday against Llanidloes at Berriew, stage their second It’s a Knock-out, and if last year’s event is anything to go by, expect an afternoon of fun and laughs!

Also, throughout the day, pubs across town will host no less than 40 bands and solo artists for the Welshpool Music Festival which will continue throughout the evening and reach a crescendo in the Royal Oak from around 11pm. Both the Festival and It's a Knock-Out are free to enter.

Monday welcomes the return of the Carnival with the parade starting from the Scout Hut in Berriew Road at 1pm and following the one-way system to Maesydre, the venue for all of the afternoon activity.

Last year Welshpool was buzzing with a series of events which were backed by residents that turned out in their thousands to support.

Organisers will be hoping for kind weather so that Welshpool can once again show that it knows how to party!
