Local residents are being asked to contribute to a project that will form part of a national remembrance of the centenary of World War I.
Powys County Council’s built heritage team is preparing for a project that will allow local communities, and especially young people, to gain a deeper understanding about World War I; as well as helping to secure war memorials into the future.
The project covers aspects of social history, education and built heritage conservation, each underpinned by community involvement.
The council is submitting a Heritage Lottery Fund bid next month and would be grateful for any expressions of support for the project; as well as information about other projects being planned in the county around the remembrance of the centenary of World War I.
