Berriew Community Centre is hosting an Afternoon Tea Party and Concert on June 9,organised by the Friends of Mid Wales Opera.
Lyric tenor Christopher Turner and prize-winning soprano Rebecca van den Berg, members of Mid Wales Opera’s cast for Albert Herring, will be performing a light programme of classic songs, including favourites from Tchaikovsky, Strauss and Cole Porter, accompanied by pianist Cat Beveridge.
In addition there will be various stalls and games to entertain the whole family from searching for buried treasure in Albert Herring’s allotment to a picture quiz. A raffle, book and plant stalls are also planned.
The day gets underway at 2.30pm with tickets £10 for adults, £3 for children and £22 for a family (two adults and up to three children). They are available from friends@midwalesopera.co.uk. You can also pay on the day although advance notice helps the organisers plan their catering.
Proceeds will go towards the Albert Herring season and the company's Young Artists Programme.
