Chance to ramble around Rodney

Welshpool Rugby Club has announced big plans to extend and re-model the Maeysdre clubhouse and plan to boost fund raising with a sponsored walk.

The Ramble Around Rodney which will also raise funds for Cancer Research is being organised by club member and cancer survivor John Evans on August 18.

"This is to be the main fundraising effort of the year for the club," said Mr Evans. "All proceeds will be shared between the extension fund and cancer research.

"We have outgrown our current clubhouse space and in urgent need of room in which to be able yo service our growing playing membership. The club's committee has worked extremely hardto provide extra playing pitches which will be available for the 2013/14 season."

Walkers will meet at Rodney's Pillar car park at 11am on Sunday, Augugust 18 with refreshments in the clubhouse later.
