Town Clerk pedals to British Champs lead

Welshpool Town Clerk Robert Robinson has made a dramatic return to the British Pedal Car Championships by holding a category lead after two races.

Robert teamed up with local girl Amy Owen to take part in the 24-hour pedal car race at Shennington at the weekend and finished as duo class winners.

“It was very hot but with a lot of effort we were amazed to find ourselves winning our class!” said Robert. “The money we raised from sponsorship will go to the MS Society.

Robert’s Cromwell Racing team leads the duo championship having previously impressed at the 10-hour race at Bruntingthorpe, where Robert raced on his own.
