Pensioner admits causing biker’s death

An 84-year-old man from Manafon has admitted that his careless or inconsiderate driving caused the death of a local motorcyclist.

Geoffrey Humphries struck a motorcycle being ridden by Simon Kerridge-Judd, of Trewern, at the Berriew junction on October 17 last year. He was driving a camper van at the time and was turning off the main road onto the B4390 when he hit Mr Kerridge-Judd.

He admitted the charges at Welshpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday and will be sentenced on July 9.
