Last chance for guided walk spot

05/07/2013 @ 04:34

It’s your last chance to book a spot on a guided walk around an historic town in the north of the county.

Castle Views on Offa is the next walk in Powys County Council’s Trail Tempters programme and takes place around Montgomery on July 13.  But walkers need to book their place before July 12 to take part.

The walk takes participants through the remnants of ridge and furrow farming from the Middle Ages, up onto the Offa’s Dyke Path and through the Lymore Park Estate.

This moderate-graded walk is three miles in length with five stiles on route, includes a gradual incline up to Offa’s Dyke and should take three hours.

There will also be an opportunity afterwards to look around the castle and town and try out the local cafes or pubs.

Book by calling 01597 827567. For more information on other walks in the Trail Tempters programme visit www.powys.gov.uk/guidedwalks

The Trail Tempters programme is organised by the council’s Countryside Services Team.
