Ysgol Ardwyn Playgroups Ltd, which is a sessional and all day care Early Years setting based in Ardwyn Nursery and Infant school in Welshpool has been praised following a recent inspection.

The Estyn inspector ran the rule over the school’s facilities and capabilities and considered its recent move to a rufrusbished classroom in the school to be a “very good setting”.

Inspector, Mr Eifion Morgan, described it as a “vibrant learning environment” with “professional staff who have a clear vision for the future of the setting which focuses on the best provision for the children”.

He praised the management and the active involvement of parents and trustees.

“The group has received several letters of congratulations from our local Assembly Member and Member of Parliament,” said a group spokesperson.

The group has also been involved in piloting the Healthy Pre-school Scheme and an inspection for the Safety and Environment units took place recently too. The inspector Rebecca Jones praised the group and wrote: “It is always a pleasure to visit the Ardwyn setting, where it is clear that the children are happy and staff are nurturing and well focused. All activities are undertaken in a calm, attentive and structured manner. Staff keep the children involved and stimulated and therefore behaviour is excellent.”

The setting is open term time 9am-3pm offering bi-lingual and Welsh medium sessions. For more information call Jane on 07718703680.
