Man charged with Welshpool rape

A man is to appear in court today charged with the rape of a woman in Welshpool during the early hours of Sunday.

Police investigating the rape, which is alleged to have taken place in Bear Passage off the town centre, confirmed that the 27-year-old (who has not been named) was refused bail and will appear before Brecon Magistrates today (Wednesday).
