MP urges charities to tap into grant fund

Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies is urging Montgomeryshire charities to apply for a grant as part of Lloyds TSB’s “Local Lend a Hand” scheme.

The Lloyds TSB Foundation has been funding local, regional and national charities working to tackle disadvantage across England and Wales for over 25 years. Seventy percent of funding is for core costs, with particular focus on supporting underfunded charities that can make a significant difference to the lives of disadvantaged people.

The Foundation has given grants to charities from across Wales, including Montgomeryshire. Charities can check their eligibility to apply by completing an online questionnaire at www.lloydstsbfoundations.org.uk.

Mr Davies said: “I recently visited the Welshpool branch of Lloyds TSB, where I was briefed on the Foundation’s ‘Local Lend a Hand’ scheme and its work in helping local charities within Wales and Montgomeryshire.

“The Foundation has been benefitting charities and individuals across England and Wales for many years, and is one of the UKs leading independent grant-making trusts.

“Most of the Foundation’s grants are designed to support the core costs that are necessary in the everyday running of a charity, and I know that there are many vital charities in Montgomeryshire who would benefit enormously from this.”
