Welshpool police are inviting residents who would like to set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme to drop into the police station on Wednesday to discuss.
The force is encouraging community policing by holding the drop in session between 6-8pm tomorrow with anyone invited to attend.
“We’re hoping to see people who might be interested in setting up a scheme in their area,” said PCSO Sarah Rees-Jones.
“These schemes are all about communities getting together to help reduce crime and also improve links between the community and the police.
“Anyone can join, and as well as the crime prevention element, it’s also a great way to meet people who live near you and voice your concerns.
“Once you have registered a watch, you’ll be given a dedicated neighbourhood policing officer to act as your liaison and you’ll be able to attend meetings for your area, find out more about crime levels and trends and you’ll also get regular newsletters and advice on security.
“If you’d like to find out more come along to our drop in days, or visit our website at www.dyfed-powys.police.uk.”
