The summer show season will come to its traditional close with a bit of bite this month.

Leighton Village Show will be held on September 21 with a Dog Show running alongside and the promise of a “fantastic” line-up of events.

There will be 19 classes in the Dog Show for both pedigrees and crossbreeds, with rosettes to fifth place and also a Have-A-Go Fun Agility.  The Dog Show starts at 1pm with a £1 entry per class.

The fun will continue into the evening with a hog roast and family fun and games for all the family.

“It will be a fantastic day which will also include a Fell & Fun Run, a nature trail through the Leighton Estate and Woods and of course the very popular dog show,” said Jane Walton, one of the organizers.

Along with all the produce and craft entries, children's sports being run by Leighton School, vintage vehicles, bowling, laser shooting, a climbing wall and bouncy castles, there will also be the chance to show off traditional country skills with tractor reversing and bale tossing and much more besides.
