Sinden’s fight to be televised

Welshpool boxer Warren Sinden is promising a Friday 13th treat for his army of fans when he makes his third professional appearance in the ring next week.

And for the first time, the 24-year-old’s fight with the experienced Rick Boulter will be recorded by Showcase TV cameras (Channel 191 on Sky) with a nationwide television audience seeing his potential for the first time.

But before that, the university graduate is holding an open gym session this Saturday in Welshpool from 11am-1pm to allow fans to watch his ferocious preparations first hand. A real treat considering Sinden now boxes out of Birmingham where his fight takes place next week.

“My two gym mates who are on the same bill as me will be there as well,” said Sinden. “Everybody is welcome and they will get to see a full session. There will be seating available and we’ll try and squeeze anybody in that wants to come down.

“It is free but all I would ask is that they make a donation to Welshpool Boxing Club (based above the quarry garage). We’ll be available for pictures and they can ask questions after the session.”

Meanwhile, tickets are selling fast for Friday 13th but are still available from Coral. A bus, to be booked in advance, will also be going from Welshpool.

“My preparations are spot on. The television cameras will provide an added incentive for me to perform well. I am feeling great. This is the last week of hard training with a good sparring partner all week too. I can’t wait.”

Sinden is unbeaten in his previous two fights and lines up against south paw Boulter who has almost 200 rounds of professional boxing under his belt.
