The Mental Health team delivering services for the people of Powys have won an award from the Health Service Journal.
The team, which includes Shane Mills, Powys Clinical Lead, as well as colleagues from Cwm Taf Health Board and NHS Shared Services, won in the category of Efficiency in Procurement, meaning that they can now deliver improved quality of care while saving money at the same time.
Nick Golding, news editor of HSJ, said of this year’s awards: “Projects such as this help safeguard the future of the NHS, ensuring its resources are used to their full potential, helping to make savings in a way which enhances, rather than damages, patient care.”
Shane Mills, General Manager for Mental Health Services, said “The most important thing for me is to ensure that we constantly improve the level of service that we offer to the residents of Powys. If we can reduce costs at the same time then this is even better.”
