Arrest following £20,000 Welshpool theft

Police arrested a man on Friday after executing a search warrant which recovered a stolen tractor worth £20,000. The tractor had been previously stolen from the Welshpool area and the suspect is currently on bail pending further enquires police enquiries.

Big Brother nabs Welshpool thief

A 24 year-old shoplifter was caught in the act on CCTV in Welshpool Town Centre on Friday, and picked up by local police officers.

The woman was caught after leaving the shop, but police worked in co-operation with another nearby store to obtain further footage of the offender on CCTV. She received a police caution.

A police spokesperson said: “Although not every retail business in the town has CCTV the cooperation between Police and business premises means that thieves should not be complacent and police will pursue all avenues of investigation to identify them and bring them to justice.”
