Welshpool 2011 calendar now on sale!

A charity calendar highlighting some of the memorable moments for Welshpool over the past decades has gone on sale.
Launched earlier this month, the Memories of Welshpool 2011 is available now across the town and more outlets are being sought to meet demand.
The calendar features archive photos including the opening ceremony of the fountain in Severn Road, the cutting of the first sod of the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, Welshpool Pantomime Society's cast of Cinderella, plus numerous others of people, and places.
The calendars are £3.50 and available from: Tourist Information Centre, Cafe Inglenook, Sue’s stall in the Market Hall (Mon & Sat), Chris’ Hairlines, the Woolpack in Hopkins Passage, Welshpool Jewellers, and Health Focus.
The 2010 calendar raised £2,000 for local charitable and voluntary groups including - Get Going Gang, Ardwyn school, Stroke Club, Cefn Chapel, Parkinsons Society, Oldford school, Open door, Pool Quay church, Guilsfield Church, Scouts & Cubs, Music Club, Guides & Brownies, Methodist church, Powys Eisteddfod, Castle Caereinion Recreation committee, Age Concern and many others.
Packs of Christmas cards featuring 4 views of Christ Church are also available from the Tourist Information Centre at £1 per pack.
