Farmers rescue flood motorist

Local farmers went to the rescue as motorists got stuck in floodwater near to the Welshpool Airport this afternoon.

Local photographer Ian Francis captured this image of the dramatic rescue at Kilkewydd as the River Severn broke its banks for the second time this week.

Farmers used tractors to rescue this stranded motorist and passenger who came unstuck driving through floodwater.

Flood warnings have been in place for most of the day for the Severn Valley.
