The health service in Powys is to receive a £435,000 funding boost for IT equipment and infrastructure.
The news was confirmed by Rebecca Evans, Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales, who welcomed the money to be given to Powys Teaching Health Board.
The announcement was part of a wider boost of £10.96 m announced by the Welsh Health Minister.
“This latest health investment from the Welsh Government demonstrates its continued commitment to developing the Welsh NHS, and to offering people the best possible service,” said Mrs Evans. “Investment in infrastructure to help ensure that the NHS runs smoothly is crucial in delivering modern health care.”
The money will be invested in upgrading the IT network and providing faster, more efficient computers and laptops for frontline health staff. It will also provide replacement medical and dental equipment and replace vehicles with more fuel-efficient models.
