Welshpool’s music scene looks like it is saving the best to last with a Town Hall Concert planned for next Friday night.

A third band has been added to the bill, meaning three top local acts will rock the town to its core for the ‘Mad Friday’ bash which brings to an end a watershed year for local music.

Halflight, which is fronted by former Welshpool singer Chris Cookson (pictured), will be launching their debut EP on the same day as the Town Hall gig (Friday, 17th) and will be opening the show for newly created party band, The Tellers, and the popular Soul Jets who have already played a number of sell-out gigs this year.

Tickets are starting to sell fast and the event promoter, Ben Picken from Teller Promotions, is advising people to get tickets soon.

“We are delighted that Chris will also be performing with his band Halflight which completes a quality line-up for the night,” he said.

Tickets, priced at £6 are available from The Angel, band members or by emailing tellerpromo@gmail.com. There are reductions for companies/group buying multiple tickets.
