Local arrests after Aber brawl

Welshpool police say four men have been arrested in connection to a mass punch up in Aberystwyth that was likened to ‘a scene from a Tarantino movie’.

We reported last week that the afternoon fight, between men from Newtown and Welshpool, was witnessed by Easter Sunday day trippers and residents enjoying the seaside sun.

Following an appeal, a police spokesperson told us: “A number of persons from Welshpool have been arrested in relation to the large disorder at Aberystwyth on April 5, further arrests are expected to follow. Investigations are still ongoing.”

It is believed that four men have been arrested aged between 24 and 35.

The original story was broken on the front page of the Cambrian News (pictured), with one councillor who saw the punch up making the comparison to a violent film from the Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino.
