Local unemployment down again

Unemployment is down again in Montgomeryshire, with just 1.4% of those able to work claiming Job Seekers Allowance.

The figures released by the Office for National Statistics confirm that in March 2015, the total number of claimants for the Allowance in Montgomeryshire was 535, a drop of 149 from a year earlier of March 2014.

The figures come as UK unemployment rates have fallen to their lowest level since July 2008, as the number of unemployed across the UK dropped by 76,000 in the three months to February 2015.
