An attempted armed robbery in Llanrhaeadr on Wednesday night led to a cross border police operation and an arrest in Oswestry.
A man went into a store in the village at 8pm, produced a handgun and demanded money from the till.
Dyfed Powys police say the man was unsuccessful in his attempt to get money and fled on foot. A major police search got underway involving Dyfed Powys and West Mercia Police Forces.
West Mercia’s police helicopter joined the search and a Dyfed Powys spokesman said that a man was arrested in Oswestry at 2am.
