Welshpool High School latest to close

Welshpool High School has just announced it will be closed this afternoon and all pupils will be sent home.

Many schools across the area have closed their doors today as heavy snow sweeps across Mid Wales.

Already closed were Llanfair and Llanidloes High Schools and the following primary schools: Aberhafesp, Abermule, Berriew, Ladywell Green, Leighton, Llandinam, Llanfair Caereinion, Llangedwyn, Llanidloes Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon and Meifod.
