Money raised by local fund raisers has being invested into life saving equipment that will be accessible to the public throughout the Welshpool area.

The Welshpool Hospital League of Friends has announced that is has spent £15,000 on 12 defibrillators that can be used in life threatening situations by members of the public.

And now you are being invited to receive training next week, and it could be the difference between life and death.

“Training has been arranged in the Corn exchange, in Welshpool Town Hall, on Monday between 9am and 5pm,” said Sue Williams, from Welshpool Hospital League of Friends. “Everyone is welcome to this drop in session. This equipment is very easy to use but training will give people more confidence to use it in an emergency and could hopefully save someone's life.”

The 12 defibrillators will be located in Morrisons Welshpool, Powis Castle, Welshpool Town Hall, Dolanog Community Centre, Berriew Community Centre, Coed y Dinas, COWSHACC, Arddleen Village Hall, Smithfield Bell, Royal Oak, Guilsfield Spar, and one still to place.
