10PM UPDATE: Welshpool open but Ardwyn, Maesydre, Oldford, Gungrog shut

Welshpool High School will be open tomorrow (Wednesday) but a number of schools in the town and surrounding areas are shut.

Oldford, Gungrog, Ardwyn, Berriew, Buttington/Trewern, Llanfair, Llanfyllin, Maesydre are all among the schools that are closed while Llanfair and Llanfyllin High Schools have also now finished for Christmas. Montgomery Primary School is open at time of writing.

With the weather worsening, parents are advised to check the Powys County Council web site at http://www.powys.gov.uk/index.php?id=2792&L=0 for updates.
