Benefits forms go online

Local residents can now apply for a range of benefits online.

Powys County Council has introduced online claim forms on its website for applying for housing benefit, free schools meals and council tax reduction.

In addition, residents can advise the council online about any changes to their circumstances.

Cllr Wynne Jones, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Income and Awards, said: “The provision of the online forms to assist residents, provides a useful addition to the existing service and further builds on the very successful new ways of working, where residents can make claims, get advice and support, using either face to face meetings, at Customer Services points & Library Centres, over the telephone or via the website.”
