Guilsfield set for Quay battle

Guilsfield manager Russell Cadwallader has tell his Guilsfield players to get tough when the season ‘re-starts’ tomorrow at table topping Connah’s Quay.

The villagers are perched just above the relegation zone after a poor run of form produced just one win from eight games before the enforced lay-off. And it won’t get any easier as they travel to Deeside to meet the Huws Gray Alliance pacesetters.

“It is going to be very tough but after all the frustration of call-offs we are really looking forward to getting going again,” said Cadwallader. “But we need to toughen up as a side. We have plenty of talent in the squad but we seem to be too nice. We will need real leaders out there tomorrow and for the rest of the season because it will not get any easier.”

Cadwallader will be without young striker Adam Jenkins who is down with flu but has an otherwise full squad to select from.

“We learned a lot from our last game at Rhyl even though we lost 4-0,” he added. “We need to show a lot more aggression in certain areas of the pitch. It is a big game for us but they are all big games in this league.”

Meanwhile, Technogroup Welshpool are set to include several of their new signings with former Montgomery midfielder Tom Evans expected to make his debut when the Lilywhites entertain Rhayader.
