A Four Crosses reserve team took a giant step to being realised last night with the confirmation of former Trewern boss Clive Jones as manager.
‘Selwyn’ as he is better known has a wealth of experience in amateur league football and his appointment has been welcomed by first team manager Nick Popyk.
“It’s a great appointment for the club,” he said: “I did my referees course just before Christmas with Sel and know we will work well together. He has contacts within the game to help bring a couple in next season to the reserve set up and with his son playing at Llanymynech Juniors he will have the best interest of the youth coming through also.”
Already, both Newtown and Four Crosses have confirmed they will be joining the Montgomeryshire Amateur League next season to provide a welcome boost to the league’s flagging numbers.
