Carwyn win on the count-back

Saturday saw Carwyn Jones win the Centenary Shield at Welshpool Golf Club by the narrowest of margins.
Three golfers all shared a total of 38 points with Jones(11) winning on count-back was From David Evans (23) and William Pritchard (13).
On Sunday, it was more of the same with no less than the top six golfers sharing the same score of 40 points!  Winning the British Legion Cup on count-back was Dan Stephens (5) and, for the record, also on 40 points was in 2nd place Mick Curley (16), in 3rd Ian MacLeod (23), in 4th Richard Templeton (5), in 5th Mark Bowen (13) and, finally, in 6th was Dwain Evans (8).
Welshpool's seniors enjoyed an away day at Market Drayton When Richie Amyes (28) excelled with 37 points. John Wood (24) was second with 34 points and Derrick Arthur (25) third with 33 points.
Welshpool seniors were hosts to  a triangular match with Church Stretton and Knighton when local knowledge prevailed and Welshpool won with 281 points. Church Stretton were second with 243 points and Knighton third with 228 points. Stan Rawlings  of Welshpool had the best individual card with 38 points.
