Last minute heartbreak for Guils

22/01/2011 @ 08:03

Guilsfield’s frustrating season continued with yet another one goal defeat, this time it came with the last kick of the game at Flint.
Russell Cadwallader’s men still hover just above the Huws Gray Alliance relegation zone but with a goal difference better than most clubs in mid-table. But the club is still not getting the rub of the green that the manager has been hoping for.
In one of the few matches to beat the freeze, Guilsfield went behind in a scrappy first half to a Ben Jones opener just before the interval.
Guilsfield had the better of what few chances were available after the break. Gareth Jones missed out on a one-on-one while sharp shooter Ross Frame saw an effort cleared off the line. But it was Frame who engineered Guilsfield’s leveller in the 80th minute. He conjured up a well worked free kick with Chris Roberts before finding defender Jon Jones on the far post to head home.
The match appeared to be heading towards a point apiece until Shaun Beck got the last gasp winner just before the final whistle blew.
