Bumper audience for sports awards

The cream of the local sports community is expected to attend the Montgomeryshire Sports Awards on Friday night.

 

More than 300 people are anticipated at the Theatr Hafren event, with the category winners to be decided by a panel including County Councillors and volunteers representing a variety of sports.

 

The accolades recognise and celebrate the sporting success of local individuals and teams involved in sport at all levels with nominations sent in by the general public over the last three months.

 

Categories for the awards include Sports Personality of the Year, Junior Sportsperson of the year (U12s and U18s), Disabled Sportsperson of the Year, Junior Sports Team of the Year, Senior Sports Team of the Year, Club of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Service to Sport, and Coach of the Year.
