Gough loses in Welsh final

Welshpool bowler Daniel Gough lost in a tie-break situation in the final of the Wales National Singles in Swansea today.

Gough came from behind against veteran Phil Rowlands of Cardiff to force a dramatic climax but lost the tie-break 2-0 to Rowlands, who also won the title back in 1990.

Rowlands looked to be running away with the title when he took the first set 11-3 but Gough dug deep to win the second set 10-7 at Swansea's Indoor Arena.

A disappointed Gough said,"Phil played the big shots at just the right time and was a worthy winner."
