10/04/2017 @ 09:52

Following the recent catch up matches in the Montgomeryshire and District Airgun League, Churchstoke kept their sights on the target, their nerves intact and with fantastic consistent team shooting reclaimed the title for the second year running.

First in the firing line were Castle Caereinion. With home advantage Churchstoke took the points with a superb team performance, claiming the match 207.1-199.1 with Jane Thomas (35.3), Malcolm Jukes (35.5) and Owen Stimpson (35.4) shooting possibles.

Next up were Crew Green A and again Churchstoke used home advantage to take the match 201.9-192.8 and claim the two points to clinch their second league title.

Once again a consistent team performance was instrumental in the win, with Jukes (35.3) Stimpson (35.1) and Paul Gwilliam (35.1) all scoring possibles for the home side.

In other matches, Newtown won at Castle Caereinion 200.4-193.0 with Jamie Thomas (35.2) for Newtown shooting a possible.

Castle also had an away match at Forden where they regained some of their season’s form and came away with the two points to secure fourth place with Richard Morgan (35.2) and Andy Mutch (35.4) scoring possibles.

With only one match to be shot, Newtown v Forden and its outcome not affecting the standings, congratulations to Churchstoke on their tremendous season and also to Guilsfield A who have pushed them all the way to claim runners-up. Arddleen take the final podium place in third.
