Relegation wait for Llanfair

22/04/2017 @ 08:26

It’s going to be a relegation waiting game for Llanfair as the curtain closed on the Huws Gray Alliance League programme.

Llanfair went down 2-0 at home to neighbours Guisfield at The Mount Field with Adam Jenkin hitting both the goals in the closing minutes of the first half.

But they still finished in 13th place with Mold losing 2-0 at Holywell and will now have to wait to see if four clubs are relegated from the league.

Rhayader were surprisingly beaten 2-1 at home by Berriew but still clinched the Spar Mid Wales League championship with Carno failing to beat Llandrindod in a 1-1 draw. Carno now need two points from their remaining two fixtures to clinch runners-up spot.

A 1-1 home draw with Aberaeron was enough to see Welshpool finish outside the bottom two places in the Spar Mid Wales League with Tywyn/Bryncrug crashing 4-1 at Llanrhaeadr.

Churchstoke reached the ER Jenkins Cup final by beating Borth 4-2.
