Ellen is Mid Wales champion

Welshpool’s Ellen Jones (7) won the Mid Wales County Championships last weekend at Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club.

Having qualified with three best gross scores she went on to beat Lynn Mamos (14) (Aberdovey) 4 and 3 in quarter finals, Harriet Evans (3) (Aberdovey) on the second extra hole in the semi-finals and Julie MacAloon (7) (Aberdovey) 8 and 7 in the final.
Ellen is seen receiving the trophy from County Captain Sally Wilkinson.
The ladies played the May medal on Sunday and Sue Shemilt (23) won with a nett 69. Margaret Bowen (14) was second with a nett 71 and Ann Newell (18) third with a nett 72.

Sue Jones and Jane Webster were winners against a Church Stetton pair in the third round  of the Daily Mail Foursomes and are now awaiting their next opponents.
