Dozen up for Adele

Welshpool’s Adele Nicoll has well and truly put her winter of discontent behind her after picking up her 12^th British age group shot put title on Sunday.

The Commonwealth Games hopeful spent five months on the sidelines due to a back injury but trained hard throughout the spring with the results starting to show.

“Considering I had five months out of training over winter due to a back injury I'm extremely happy with where I am at this point in the season,” she said after winning the British U23 title in Bedford a week after winning the Welsh title.

More pleasingly for Adele was that her winning throw was only 10cm short of her personal best of 16.24m.

“Thanks to everyone for their continued support,” she said.
