Golf at Welshpool and Llanymynech

The Saturday winter league at Welshpool Golf Club had a good turnout in good conditions with the bogey competition being won by Kevin Morris with an excellent score of +7.

 

Second was Mark Roberts +3, and third place eventually went to Graham Hughes +2 after a countback.

 

On sunday the Rabbits & Tigers Stableford competition was played in wet, trying conditions with first place going to Marc Brown & Ian Spencer 30pts, second was Harry Bowen & Ritchie Williams 28pts, third was Martin Ward & Russell Pugh 26pts.

 

Llanymynech Golf Club’s Men’s Texas Scramble was played over two days at the weekend and resulted in a win for Chris Williams, Terry Williams, Garry Pugh & Ben Davies, 59-5.1=53.9. In second place were Lee Hitch, Matthew Knapper, Ralph Pell & Stephen Pierce, 60-5.1=54.9. Third were Andy Williams, Howard Jones, Huw Williams & Andy Grainger, 60-5=55.

 

The Ladies AM/AM on January 6 was won by Chris Wilkinson and Ros Phillips and Yellow Ball competition on February 10 was won by Amanda Ord-Dando, Joan Hall & Janet Jones.

 

The Senior’s Stableford was won by Ashley Letts – 39pts from Derek Batey – 36pts and in third Colin Lewis – 36pts
