Successful multi-sports day

The first of Welshpool’s multi sports days ran by the towns sports clubs was a success with nearly 50 children enjoying free sport.

Each child was given either breakfast or lunch and a chance to try their hand at rugby, football, cricket and bowls.

Organiser Dave Roberts said: “It was great to have all the sports clubs working together to offer opportunities to the young people of the town and encouraging them to try multiple sports in a fun environment.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Tesco for supplying the food and to Gwen and Matt of Welshpool Youth Service for supporting the clubs in the event.”

The second of the events will be running on Wednesday 23^rd of August at Maesydre Recreation Ground.

Morning Session - Primary School Children

8.45-9.15 Breakfast and Register

9.15-12.15 - 45 minute sessions on each sport

Afternoon Session - Secondary School Children

12.30 - 1pm Lunch and Register

1pm - 5pm - 60 minute sessions on each sport

There is no charge to attend, and the event is open to boys and girls.
