Club’s home comforts at last!

18/02/2011 @ 10:32

It’s fair to say that this season has been one to forget for many. The awful weather has made even the most ardent of summer football opposers at least consider the idea after three months of Saturday morning phone calls saying the game is off.

But one club encapsulates the situation better than most!

Montgomeryshire Amateur League Division Two side Llanfair Reserves have yet to play a home match this season despite being six months into term.

Sharing The Mount pitch has obviously not helped with the Spar Division Two first team (right) taking priority but you have to show some sympathy for the frustrated lads.

“It has been a nightmare for everyone this season but you got feel sorry for the reserves,” said first team manager Daryl Griffiths. “Hopefully they will get their match played at home this weekend and go on from there!”

But with more dodgy weather supposedly on the way, don’t rule out the chance that the boys may still receive that dreaded Saturday phone call once again!
