The golden ‘Nugget’

There’s a new name on the Newtown Premier Darts League (NPL) trophy after Craig ‘the Nugget’ Davies secured victory on a pulsating final night.

Davies beat Kacey Jones in the final having earlier beaten Garry Jones 3-2 in a tight semi-final.

Jones had reached his first NPL final by earlier beating Chris Hurds and then Gareth Ashley.

But it was Davies who took the honours through proving to be one of the most consistent players throughout the League and thoroughly deserved the win.

He was crowned the ninth NPL champion and to cap of a magnificent night, £750 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Research.
