Title chasers fined

Spar Mid Wales title chasers Llanrhaeadr have been fined for failing to inform Kerry that their January league cup match was cancelled.

 

Llanrhaeadr are currently just behind Berriew at the top of Division One with games in hand but were fined this week for the ‘lack of communication’ over their January 22 Cup tie.

 

Kerry are believed to have made the journey across Montgomeryshire following the communication mix-up. The game was one of many that fell victim to the weather on the day.

 

League secretary Phil Woosnam said: “It was also felt that in the interests of making the league more professional in readiness for the footballing pyramid system above, clubs should have more regular contact with each other especially during inclement weather.”

 

The League’s Executive Committee also took three points off Division Two strugglers, Meifod, for failing to fulfil a fixture against Talgarth in December. They were fined £50 and ordered to pay match day costs to their opponents.
