Snow wipes out football

Football League secretaries across Mid Wales were left with a headache after snow wiped out the football programme yesterday (Saturday).

Only one Spar Mid Wales League game survived with Presteigne beating Aberystwyth University 3-1 on the coast.

In the Welsh Premier League Newtown’s game with Cardiff Met was declared on only for the match referee to give the pitch the thumbs down an hour before kick-off and Caersws and Guilsfield’s Huws Gray Alliance fixtures were called off.

All fixtures in the Montgomeryshire League were also victims.
