Roberts on loan at Newtown

Welshpool based defender Callum Roberts has joined Welsh Premier League side Newtown on loan from Shrewsbury Town.

Roberts, the son of former Welshpool Town, Newtown and TNS  midfielder Mark Roberts, was awarded a full time contract at Shrewsbury at the end of last season and has made appearances from the bench for the First Division club.

He has spent the last couple of months on loan at TNS where his appearances have been limited.

Roberts could well go straight into the side to face Prestatyn today.
