Injury time drama for Guilsfield

Rob Cookson bagged his fourth goal in as many games as Guilsfield inched further away from Huws Gray Alliance relegation with a dramatic draw at Buckley last night (Tuesday).

Russell Cadwallader’s men have been undone by late goals this season but took advantage of plenty of injury time as Cookson bagged a leveler five minutes into the additional time.

Jack Delgado had given Buckley a fourth minute lead but Ross Frame continued his scoring streak with an equalizer on the half hour from the penalty spot. Wes Bretton restored Buckley’s lead in the second half before the late drama saw Guilsfield share the spoils with a 2-2 verdict.

Meanwhile, Welshpool’s revival appears to be over after a 2-1 home defeat to unlikely title outsiders Rhos Aelwyd who are now fourth. Chris Melia had brought Town level in the 72^nd minute but Dave McKintyre got the winner four minutes later.
