Huws Gray Alliance sides Guilsfield and Caersws avoided midweek misery by booking their places in the fifth round of the Central Wales Cup.

Caersws beat high flying Spar side Welshpool Town 3-1 thanks to two early second half goals from Luke Sherbon and Richard Davies after Ian Probert had brought Welshpool back in contention to cancel out Rhydian Davies’s early strike.

Guilsfield fielded a strong side at Llanidloes who matched their high flying hosts for long periods of the game, but it was the villagers who went home happy with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal 10 minutes from time for captain Chris Cathrall.
